Do You NEED Lipstick?

After hearing presidential candidates talk about lipstick, I just felt the need to share thoughts on it.

(For those who haven't been keeping up with the news, the saying, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig" was used. It is an old expression, but that is not what this article is about .. it is about using lipstick, *why* we enjoy lipstick, what it means, how we use it, and do we NEED it.)

Lip coloring has been used over the ages, it was used in ancient eygpt and most likely before. It isn't a new thing, women enjoy lipstick especially in the United States and other parts of the world. Most women wear lipstick, it is a part of life. Most men do not.

Lipstick is this fun accessory (if you want to put it that way). Lipstick can make your lips bolder, smoother, smaller, shinier. It can define your lips. You can change your appearance by simply adding a touch of color. It is fun.

Lipstick in itself means nothing. Yup, nothing. We are beautiful the way we are. With or without lipstick, all women are gorgeous. Just because we exist. We are beautiful beings. And yes, men are too. They don't wear lipstick. How could we not be beautiful because we wear .. or not wear... lipstick.

Yet, lipstick is fabulousy fun to wear. So we enjoy the experience. We have fun with the experience. We excite in having shiny lips. Do we have to wear lipstick? NO. Unlike the pig referred to in the saying, we are beautiful all the time with or without lipstick. I am hoping all women remember this. We are beautiful.
